Jinwar is a place for women in North and East Syria to liberate themselves and build a free democratic life with other women and children.

“A village commune called Jinwar has been established in Rojava.
What is Jinwar?
It is a place for women who have lived through hardships, who suffer from male domination and humiliation, who want safety, and who refuse to become instruments of men.
All the women who have become separated from their families, who are divorced, who have faced humiliation, who are ill, and so on should be organized into communes.
In this way, you will not be just a little radical, but very radical.”
A. Ocalan

After a period of planning and discussing with women all over Rojava, the construction of Jinwar started in spring 2017.
